Is TikTok Too Glitchy To Survive Or Is Everyone Just Dramatic

Is TikTok Too Glitchy To Survive Or Is Everyone Just Dramatic

Hi, I’m Eugenia, founder and owner of The Spot Marketing, and today I want to talk about the app that has more plot twists than a telenovela. TikTok. The platform that turned everyday people into celebrities, turned brands into entertainers, and turned me into someone who now says things like I saw this on TikTok with absolutely no shame.

But lately TikTok has been glitching like a teenager’s first car. Videos not loading. Uploads failing. Feeds freezing. Notifications disappearing. Creators panicking. Brands refreshing their screens like they are trying to summon a spirit.

So the big question is this. Will TikTok survive the chaos or are we watching the slow decline of the most powerful marketing tool of the decade.

Let’s get into it.

TikTok Is Glitching But TikTok Is Also Addictive

Here is the truth. TikTok could glitch for three days straight and people would still come crawling back like it was a toxic ex with great hair. The app is simply too entertaining. Too personalized. Too good at giving you exactly what you did not know you needed.

The For You Page is basically a digital psychic. It knows your humor. Your interests. Your emotional state. Your shopping habits. Your late night cravings. It knows you better than your best friend and definitely better than your therapist.

So even with the glitches, people are not running away in droves. They are annoyed. They are loud about it. They are threatening to leave. But they are still scrolling.

Will TikTok Lose Its Audience

Short answer. Not anytime soon.

Long answer. People love to threaten to leave platforms. They did it with Facebook. They did it with Instagram. They did it with Twitter. They did it with every app that has ever changed a button or moved a menu.

But users rarely leave unless two things happen at the same time.

  • The platform becomes unusable
  • A better alternative exists

Right now TikTok is glitchy but still usable. And while other platforms are trying to copy the TikTok formula, none of them have nailed the magic. Instagram Reels is trying. YouTube Shorts is trying. Threads is trying. But TikTok still owns the cultural moment.

People may flirt with other platforms but they are not packing their bags.

Will TikTok Still Be A Powerhouse Marketing Tool

Absolutely. TikTok is still one of the most powerful marketing tools on the planet. Even with the glitches. Even with the drama. Even with the occasional meltdown from creators who swear they are quitting forever and then post again two hours later.

Here is why TikTok still dominates.

  • The algorithm is unmatched for organic reach
  • Short form video is still the most consumed content format
  • Brands can go viral without spending a dollar
  • Creators drive trends faster than any other platform
  • Audiences feel more connected to brands that show up authentically

TikTok is not just a social platform. It is a cultural engine. It shapes music. Fashion. Food. Language. Humor. Shopping behavior. It is the closest thing we have to a global mood ring.

And as long as TikTok continues to influence culture, it will continue to influence marketing.

The Glitches Are Annoying But They Are Not Fatal

Let’s be honest. Every platform has had its glitch era. Instagram has had outages that lasted hours. Facebook has gone dark. Twitter has broken so many times that it became part of its personality. Even Google has had moments where the internet collectively screamed.

Glitches do not kill platforms. Boredom does.

And TikTok is many things but it is not boring.

The glitches are frustrating. They interrupt creators. They disrupt brand campaigns. They make marketers like me want to throw our phones into the ocean. But they are temporary. They are fixable. They are not the end.

What Brands Should Do Right Now

This is where I put on my founder hat and tell you what I tell every client at The Spot Marketing.

Do not panic. Do not pull back. Do not assume TikTok is dying.

Instead focus on what you can control.

  • Keep posting consistently
  • Lean into authentic, personality driven content
  • Repurpose your TikTok content across other platforms
  • Build community so your audience follows you everywhere
  • Stay flexible because social media is always changing

If TikTok disappeared tomorrow, your brand should still be able to thrive. But as of today TikTok is still a marketing powerhouse and still worth your time, creativity, and strategy.

My Honest Take As A Marketer And A Human

TikTok is glitchy right now but it is not going anywhere. The audience is too loyal. The content is too addictive. The cultural impact is too massive. The marketing potential is too strong.

Will it evolve. Yes. Will it face competition. Yes. Will it need to fix its issues. Absolutely. But will it collapse because of a few glitches. Not a chance.

TikTok is like that friend who is always late but always fun. You get annoyed. You complain. You roll your eyes. But you still show up because the experience is worth it.

And that is exactly how users feel.

If you want my prediction, TikTok will survive this messy moment and come out even stronger. The real question is how brands will adapt and who will take advantage of the opportunity while everyone else is panicking.
